Weatherwise: The tourist high season, December through April, is also the dry season, and one can mostly depend on clear, sunny weather. The rainy season takes a while to get started in May, often diminishing for a couple of weeks in June or July. The only really rainy months in Guanacaste on the Pacific coast are October and November, and on the Atlantic coast, the only predictably dry months are September and October. Temperatures vary, according to altitude: 50-60°F in the highlands, an average of 78°F in the Central Valley, from 85-95°F at sea level.
Costa Rica contains an endless variety of exotic places to discover. From erupting volcanoes to virgin rainforests, you’ll definitely find many areas here that strike your interest. The most difficult part about planning a trip to Costa Rica is narrowing down which areas are of most importance to you. The country may be small, but the destinations are spread out. The only complaint we have received from our clients in the past is that they tried to do too much in too little time. For a week-long vacation, it is recommended to choose 2-3 areas to visit. This will give you an ideal amount of time to immerse yourself in the culture, surroundings, and activities relating to each destination.
